36 weeks...

We are def getting closer!  27 days until my due date!  Next week I start my weekly doc apts.. so it will be interesting to see if I have anything going on yet!  We have a few more classes this week, but to be honest, I'm kinda over them.  They are all pretty much saying the same things over and over and its hard for me to be out that late anymore.  So I'm not sure if we will be going to the last breastfeeding part 2 (seeing how part 1 was everything I already knew.. from my other classes and books) and Weds we have a car seat saftey class (which again I've already been to one) plus I'm not sure how they are going to talk car seat saftey for 2 hours!  And this will all depend on that snow storm they are calling for.  I am really looking forward to my doc apt on Tue.  Not too much new around here.  But we did get all the plastic drawers for our bedroom and have the nb-3 month baby clothes in there and sorted.  Plus I've almost finished all our laundry, which I plan on finishing this week... all that is left are the extra towels and extra blankets (these are big people stuff not baby.. baby stuff is all done)  So that will be nice to have it all done.
Also we toured the Mat. ward today and found out we can have clear liquids during L&D.. which is very exciting.  Up until 2 weeks ago, they only allowed you to have ice.. but they just changed it (just in time ;) )

New with baby:
Only 4 more weeks to go!
Week36 ~length 18.6 in | 47 cm ~weight 5.8 lbs | 2.6 kg

The countdown continues… and in fetal developments: most of the bones (soft skull aside) in their little body are now completely hardened, providing a solid structure from which they can now make their grand debut into the world. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, we are structurally ready for a secure launch. In physical fitness news: their muscle tone has also improved over these past few weeks, and you’ll definitely be impressed by their steel-like Ulnar grasp (a newborn reflex that occurs if you lay your finger in their palm). And in genital development: if you’re having a girl, her labia are now fully developed. Finally, in the fluids/excretion department: the amniotic fluid-to-baby ratio has fallen over these past weeks, although they’re still swallowing fluid (building up even more meconium for that historic first poop), and some vernix caseosa. They will be more than ready to swallow and digest milk after birth. Just in case you didn’t get it quite yet: you’ve got yourself an adorable and hungry 5.8 lbs 18.6 inch baby—are you ready?

And new with me:
How far along? 36 weeks and 1 day
Total weight gain: +32.8 pounds (not sure on this yet.. until doc apt on tues)
Sleep: Sleep... I'm not really sleeping well at all anymore.

Best moment this week: I had a girl day on Friday with a friend and got pedis which was wonderful!
Food cravings: Milkshakes this week
Gender: It's a boy!
Maternity Clothes: Yep, but lately I've been living in my couple pairs of yoga pants.  Mat. Jeans aren't that comfy anymore...
Belly Button in or out? Still in; it's cute and little if you can believe it.
What I miss: sleeping thru the night and wine
What I am looking forward to:  Finishing laundry and Doc apt on Tues.
Nursery Progress: We still need to put up the wall hangings, but since he isn't staying in the nursey right away, thats not big deal.  Other than that, we are ready!

35 weeks 5 to go!

35 weeks and 35 days to go (well that was on Sat.. so today its more like 32 days until my due date!)  Our baby will be here in no time, I really can't believe it!  This weekend was super exhausting, but it was nice for me to be able to get out with the girls for a mini road trip one last time before baby got here.  This week is also pretty busy, with our breastfeeding class and new born basic classes both happening this week!  Also we are planning on touring the maternity ward.  The things on my to-do list this week are finish up the goody bags we are leaving out for the nurses in the marternity ward (bribing them really.. lol) and get the last touches for the baby's room.

Here is whats new with the baby this week:

Your baby doesn't have much room to maneuver now that he's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew). Because it's so snug in your womb, he isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times he kicks should remain about the same. His kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete – he'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.
More weight.. how exciting!

And me:

How far along? 35 weeks and 3 days
Total weight gain: +32.8 pounds
Sleep: Its getting harder to sleep, I fall asleep fine, but wake up lots of times in the middle of the night, and sometimes can't get back to sleep.
Movement: He is always having a party in there.. moves around all the time :)
Best moment this week: I had a really good doc apt last week and only gained .8lbs.. which made me excited!
Food cravings: cheese cake
Gender: It's a boy!
Maternity Clothes: Yep, but lately I've been living in my couple pairs of yoga pants.  Mat. Jeans aren't that comfy anymore...
Belly Button in or out? Still in; it's cute and little if you can believe it.
What I miss: sleeping thru the night
What I am looking forward to:  Getting some more stuff for the nursery and working on a baby book.
Nursery Progress: Trim is up, Crib is done :), dresser is up and 3-6 month clothes are all washed and put away up there!  We need to hang the wall decor, switch out the outlets to white ones (good thing I know an electrician ;) ) and put up shelves in the closet.  In our room (which is where baby will be staying the first few months)  I need to get some plastic drawers to put his NB and 0-3 months clothes in (which I'm planning on getting today) and then we will be set there.  Blankets and clothes are washed, towels are washed and put away, so not alot left on that front...

Well I can't get a picture to post today.. ...  sorry

34 Weeks!

34 Weeks!!  YAY!  Things are really starting to fly by now!  This week we got alot done!  We got our carseat put in and checked, Timmy got the trim up in the baby's room, we got the crib, dresser, and changing table all put together.  We also got some plastic drawers for the bathroom stuff (wash clothes and towels and baby's soap)  Finished my goal of 30 freezer meals.  I also got our hopital bag all packed...
Here is what I'm bringing:
Hair band/ties and brush
Folder w/ insurance info, and other important papers
Snacks for daddy
Tyenol for daddy
Slippers/socks
Lots of chapstick
Camera w/ extra batteries and memory card
Nursing gown, tanks, bras, cream, soothies and pads
Underwear and socks
Shampoo/toothbrush/soap/deorderant/facewash..etc
Cards/games
Flipflops for the shower
PJ pants
Eye mask
Phone chargers

For Baby:
Carseat,base, and cover
Blankets
Going home outfits w/ Hats (in a few different sizes)
Socks for his hands
A big burp cloth so we can take it home to Chase to get used to his smell
Nail file

Its two bags, and the bold stuff are for L&D.  Now left to do on the list is to decorate the baby's room (put all the wall hangings, etc) and since baby will be in our room for the first few months, I want to get some more plastic drawers to keep his NB and 0-3 months clothes in our room.  We need to finish up our classes (we have them at the end of the month).  Tim will put shelves up in the closet of the baby's room and I will be able to put some of the stuff up there and then we just need to wait for our LO to finish up!
Here is whats going on with the baby at 34 weeks:
Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. His fat layers – which he'll need to regulate his body temperature once he's born – are filling him out, making him rounder. His skin is also smoother than ever. His central nervous system is maturing and his lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor, you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.
And me:

Gender: Bouncing baby boy

Labor Signs: Nope, but I have noticed more Braxton Hicks contractions
Belly Button in or out? In, and I think it might just stay that way! Thats what happens when you have a really deep innie!

What I am looking forward to:Decorating the nursery and finishing putting other stuff away.

Weekly Wisdom: Don't be afraid to ask for help, or for people to slow down.

Feeling ready!

Last Sunday, I had our last baby shower and it was wonderful!  I really can't believe how blessed we are to have such great friends and family!  After the shower Tim and I went and got the last big thing we needed, which was a monitor.  Tues we got our car seat and got it put in at the firehouse.  I've been working on washing some of the baby clothes.  Tim has been working on the nursey, he got the trim up and this weekend we are putting up the crib, dresser, and changing table (will post pic when its done)... So its really exciting!  Freezer meal wise I have 28 meals done and planning on cooking one more today.  My goal is 30, so after that, just one more!  All we have left to do now it finish up our classes (breastfeeding and mommy and me-which is a newborn care class) and finish the baby's room (which since he will be in our room the first couple months, its not a gaint deal) then just wait for our little one to get here!
I'm going to the doc every 2 weeks now, which is a reminder of how much closer we are getting!  The baby is moving around like crazy and woke me up this morning by kicking me in my ribs!!  I've been feeling good for the most part, tired, but good.
