Slowing down

Today, we had a bake sell where I had some food to drop off. I also had planned on going to a "canning" party. After such a busy week, being at my mom's helping her, we were exhausted. I didn't cook dinner once this whole week and spend every night and day away from home.. so bedtime has been hard with Z and we have all been so tired. So this morning when Tim's truck won't start, it was a blessing. He had already left (he worked today) so instead of trying to jump it and risk needing a jump in town... (it just needs a new battery) We just relaxed at home. It was lovely. This became my theme song...

Well, I did end up doing something.. lol I cuddled with Zach, did some overdue laundry, worked out in the garden and hung out next door. When Tim got home I cooked dinner, and then we headed out to the camp ground to chill in with our friends. Also thanks to our wonderful neighbor Tim doesn't need to mow our yard b/c K mowed it today for him! What a sweet boy!
We are trying to get a set routine down for Zach at bedtime. We have started putting him down a bit earlier and its working out pretty well. The last 3 nights he has slept 6-8 hours again.. and I'm so glad that has come back. I was really missing my sleep! He is chewing on everything also!
I didn't take any picture this week.. but plan on taking some tomorrow... so I'll post those soon!

1 year ago, I sat in the bathroom.. staring at this:
It was almost unbelievable.  I knew in the moment everything in my life had just changed.  I won't lie, I cried.  I was scared and overwhelmed with emotion.  We hadn't been trying.  We had got off BC a month before to start trying in 6 months.. I was excited, also, but mainly scared.  So I cried, and thought about everything.  Then I thought about my job, my trips, my life and how in one moment it all changed.  And then I thought about how I was going to tell my husband.  I had planned so many clever ways to tell when the time came.  Buying him a willow tree figure and giving it to him.

This one.. but I didn't.. I didn't have a card, I had thought of a little poem and putting it in a frame w/ a baby sock, but no...instead I went into the bedroom, crying and (as he will put it) "threw" this test to him.  I then saw him smile, and pull me into his arms.  He was so excited and happy... which set my mind at ease.  But for the record, I didn't throw the test at him.. I ran it to him and put it in front of his face so he'd see the 2 pink lines...  that changed everything :)  Fast forward to what I woke up to this morning:
The joy of my life now.  Nothing can melt my heart the way this little man's smile does.   Nothing makes me more happy than seeing him do something new (and old for that matter..)  I delight when I see him and his daddy playing, dancing, talking, or really anything.  He is my life now and I couldn't be more happy!  I was scared one year ago about what was going to come, and I'm still kinda scared.. but so happy.  I've learned what real love is, and  get to see it every day!  Watch Zach grow and change every day is so wonderful and he is by far the best thing we have ever done.  He looks so much like his daddy, its crazy!  and a good thing because after all I did fall in love with his daddy.. :)  By the way, June 20th was Father's Day last year, and this year I can't top that gift-not even going to try :)

4 months old and getting big!

Alittle late.. but.  Z is 4 months old now!  Weds we had his 4 month apt and all went well!  He is in the 90% of height (almost 27in long!) and 75% for weight (16lbs)  He is a tall boy!  The doc was impressed with how aware he is and how strong he is (with standing and "pulling" himself up).  He can sit w/ support and loves standing (with support/balance)  He is talking away and smiles all the time.  We are having so much fun with him!  He can keep himself happy by playing alone in his jumperoo and his matt.  He also rolls over from both belly to back and back to belly!  He loves rolling form back to belly.. so he normally ends up sleeping on his belly.  Right now we are in a size 2 diaper, but its getting too small (which means he is blowing out of them)  We are trying to use up most the size 2 b/4 we do more cloth diapers.
Food wise, Doc said not to start until late 5 months or 6 months old, which is fine with me.  He is still happy w/ BFing and getting enough with that, so I''m happy.  The doc was really happy with how Z is doing, which makes me happy!
On a side note, my mom is having surgery this Monday on her ankle, so please keep her in your prayers.  We (Zach and I) will be there a lot this week helping dad out while she recovers and is not allow to put weight on it.  She was there for me (of course) when I was stuck on bedrest and learning how to be a mom, so I'm more than happy to be there for her!  I'm lucky to have such a wonderful mom and friend! :)
This is my new siggy for my board.. and I thought it was super cute!

Sorry its blurry!  Its so hard to get his smiling!

Sleeping...

Most people who know Zach, know he is(was) a great sleeper.  He is the baby that normally sleeps thru events/play dates and thru the night.  I knew that it would stop at some point, but I didn't think it'd be so soon!  All week we have been waking up at least 2 times a night.  Normally around 1-3 and then 4-6.  Also, napping has become much harder.  For example, yesterday he finally took about an hour nap around 4.  So we were awake for the better part of 9am-4pm!  He did take a few cat naps, but didn't stay asleep for long.  I'm wondering if this is all part of the 4 month wakeful or just because there are so many new exciting things he can seen now.  Either way, I'm not complaining too much.  When he wakes up at night, he just eats and goes back to sleep.  Plus its nice to cuddle with him at night again
I've started to make some baby food.  I wanted to try it out since I'm guessing he will be he will be eating food before I know it!  I cooked 2 sweet potatoes by baking them.  Then I got the insides out and put them in the food processor with some breast milk.  After I got them pretty smooth, I poured them into ice trays and then froze them.  The ice trays make 1 oz cubes, so it perfect for baby food.  I have a few other things, green beans, bananas, and carrots, I want to try next.  Today I think I'm going to bananas.  Those are pretty easy, just mush, add BM and freeze.  I have a great website I'm looking at.  http://wholesomebabyfood.momtastic.com/ and its been super helpful!
Today, I'm waiting for the UPS man, and I really hope he comes here before Tim gets home.  His birthday present is coming today and I'm pretty excited!  His birthday isn't until the end of the month, but I might give it to him early.. we will see :).
Just like daddy!

Happy Boy!

A little cute for your day :)

These pictures were all taken by our friend B a few weeks ago, but I never added this to my computer, so I thought I should prolly show them off!  These pictures make me very jealous, so I've decided that I'm going to start saving up to by a nice camera.  And even more money on lens.. but I'll start w/ the camera first!   This is the one I have my eye on.. so if anyone wants to buy it for me.. that would be wonderful!  :)
But for now enjoy the pictures someone else took

Here we are "playing" with the grass for the first time.. then we fell asleep!

LLL and ICAN sale

I'm in the mood to bake.. so I need some recipes and some ingredients and bake.... also a maid to clean up after I bake would great..  I just thought I'd share.
Other than that, today we helped out w/ a garage sale that benefited Le Leche League and ICAN ( International Cesarean Awareness Network, Inc.)  We raised a lot of money and I had a good time hanging out with some friends.  There was so much stuff that everyone so kindly donated!  Plus a lot of ppl came to help out.  Zachariah is pretty much known as the baby that can sleep anywhere and is "transferable" and true to himself he napped the best.  He fell asleep in arms of ppl, and in the catbird Mei Tie, and also in B's crib.  And he of course flirted with the girls.  Z stayed in pretty good mood the whole time we were working.  A big thanks goes out to S for hosting the sale and doing such a great job at organizing it.

It was nice getting out with other girls and also help out 2 causes I believe in.  Now I need to start focusing on raising money for Memory Walk for Alzheimer!

Going on a diet...

So, I have lost all my baby weight, but I have more to drop.  At this point I'm maintaining my current weight and eating crap, so I'm guessing that if I eat some good healthy food, I'll get to my goal weight.  On top of that we are going to start walking/running at night.  So, I'm pretty sad about giving up bad food, but I'm ready to have my old body back!
We had a pretty exciting and exhausting weekend.  It was my dad's surprise party!  That was a lot of fun!  Lots of people came and we cooked out.. and had cake.  :)  He seem to have a good time and got to spend time w/ Zach.  Sunday we hung out at some friends house and then went swimming.  We put Zach's feet in and he loved it!  This kid loves water!  I'm looking forward to taking him to a pool so he can swim (in a little boat thingy)!  I sometimes feel like I have a never ending list of things to buy.  Speaking of buying, I just ordered sophie the giraffe and it should be here tomorrow!  Since it seems like Z is getting ready to teeth, I think it will be handy!
We made a castle.. and then throw rocks at it trying to destroy it..  We did!

Zach playing with his bunny

We also made a mermaid.. LOL

Zach is getting so big!

Right now he is in his jumperoo playing with the lights and animals on there...  He can roll over, he holds his head up so well and he LOVES standing up looking around.  He smiles at me when he is eating and talks back to us when we talk to him.  I can't believe that just a few months ago how we could pretty much just hold him.  It really blows my mind how fast it has already gone!  I know he will be crawling in no time (he already bends his little legs during tummy time).  I am trying to take in every moment I have with him right now while he is so little (well sorta.. lol)  and still needing!
Well Z is starting to fuss so I'm going to go!
