Cloth diapers!

So I have been slowly building my stash.. but really any mom's who cloth diaper know they are NEVER done buying more.. b/c they are so darn cute!  But I think we are too the point that I can do it exclusively without the need of disposables!  For the last 2 weeks I have only been using cloth! (other than the day we were out of the house the whole day..) Before that I was using cloth until I needed to wash.  Overall I really love it!  We have all kinds of different types and my favorite really changes from day to day.. Some days we use prefolds/covers the whole day. then the next we do AIO's and pockets, and we even do fitteds.. since we have some of all of those!  It works well for me having the different types.
Laundry hasn't been as bad as I first feared it would be.  I do a load about every other day, and as long as I can dry them outside, its not bad!  The hardest part it remembering to switch "extra rinse" off before doing non cloth diaper stuff!
On a semi related story:  I was at Sam's Club and the cashier and manger was trying to talk me into upgrading my membership to this one where you get coupons for the stuff you buy.. Well of coarse I had Z with me, so he tried using the baby card.  "You will get great coupons for diapers, formula, and baby food, it will save you so much money!!"  I looked at him, and smile, then said "Well, I breast feed, cloth diaper and make my own baby food, so I really won't get those coupons"  The cashier looked at me and was super impressed then asked me a few questions.

Hanging out

I feel like this has been the first week where we havn't had a million things to do!  Yesterday was such a lovely day for us!  Zach woke up around 9:30 and we cuddled/played in bed for a bit, then ate some cereal.  He got a quick bath in the sink to wash off the cereal that got everywhere!  Then we packed up and walked to the library-where I found tons of his favorite books (Trucktown books).  Crazy as it is, he clearly has favorite books, toys, colors, songs, already!  Then we played and played, and cuddled, b/c Z did not want to take a nap!  Finally he fell asleep in his swing around 4 and I made some dinner.  Then we went to my ICAN meeting and he played with his other baby friends.  Playing was more like trying to grab each other and take pacis, toys and bottles from each other.  After the meeting we came home and went to bed!  :)  It was a nice relaxing day
Z and mommy together before she left for the wedding on Sat

Messy eater!

A few first!

We had our first cereal last week!  Zach loved it!  He did really well with it too!  I was expecting it to be much messier, but overall it wasn't too bad!  He did get a bath after it, but I was expecting I'd need a bath too! lol.  I was excited to start cereal, but at the same time, sad that my little man is growing up so fast!  He is getting so big and so much fun...

Also, he stayed overnight at grandma's for the first time!  His first night away from mom!  And he did great!  I did ok..  We went to a wedding,
and I came home and fed him after the wedding before the reception.  Then Grandma J and Grandpa J took him to a game night with their friends.  We left the reception at 9:30.  And you know what we did.. slept!  lol  I woke up a few times still and woke up at 4:45ish and needed to pump.  So I pumped then showered.. then read.. then when the alarm went off at 7.. I was so ready to go!  T rolled over to turn off the alarm and found me staring at him! :)  But it was nice night away!

New update on Z: He can sit on his own.. until he sees a toy and leans over.. then falls!  But for the few
seconds he is sitting on his own!  :)  As soon as I can get a non blurly pic of it.. I'll post it

Growth Spurt

Let me first define it for you thanks for Kellymom.com

What is a growth spurt?

"During a growth spurt, breastfed babies nurse more often than usual (sometimes as often as every hour) and often act fussier than usual.
The increase in baby's milk intake during growth spurts is temporary. In exclusively breastfed babies, milk intake increases quickly during the first few weeks of life, then stays about the same between one and six months. As solids are gradually introduced after six months, baby's milk intake will gradually decrease.
Physical growth is not the only reason that babies may have a temporary need for increased nursing. Babies often exhibit the same type of behavior (increased nursing with or without increased fussiness) when they are working on developmental advances such as rolling over, crawling, walking or talking. Mom's milk is for growing the brain as well as the body!"

So these growth spurts happen pretty often but for some reason this one has been rough.  Zach has been nursing non stop and sometimes for an hour at a time.. So its been quite the week!  Overall he has been in a good mood, so that is good.  It has just been a lot of nursing and cuddling time.  On top of a physical growth spurt, we are also having a "leap forward" according to one of the best books ever (every new mom needs this book!)

This book tells about when babies have "fussy" periods the "leap" into a new development.  So at 19 weeks (Zach is 2 weeks early, so he hits the milestones about 2 weeks later, so even tho he is 21 weeks-he does the 19 week thing now)  he gets fussy, clingy, and wants to nurse alot.. So we got  double whammy!!  So we havn't been sleeping through the night lately.  I'm very tired! :)
Also Chase ( our pup) had to go to the vet on Monday and turns out he had a yeast infection in his little ear!  So we had to get ear meds and also an antihistamine, which makes him very sleepy!  But he is getting better!
Yesterday,  I did get out of the house and went on a girls night out.  I needed this!  Also we had a play date with a friend out on her farm.  So that was lovely!  :)  But I just wanted to update on where we have been lately! :)

Sleepy pup!!

Don't Worry Be Happy

o, I havn't been posting much.. I havn't been doing much of anything lately other than take care of Zach, Chase, Tim and my mom.. so I've been pretty stressed out! So Tim said we needed some time with out Zach.. Tim had the day off on Friday, so we took Zach to grandma's and we went to Six Flags (b/c deep down we are still very much kids.. ok not that deep down :) ) Of coarse the morning did not go as planned. First, we started about an hour later than what we had planned-which wasn't that big of a deal since we were trying to relax anyway.. But as we were walking out the door, I couldn't find my Id/debit card holder... Which we were planning on buying tickets online (and you need to show your ID) So back into the house to try to locate the holder.. We looked for a bit, with no luck and gave up. This put me in a bad mood... so we looked up this song

For some reason this song actually puts me in a better mood! So we get to my parents to drop Zach off (with lots of milk) and about the 45 mins later I realize that my little cooler with the icepacks (that was holding the milk I took) was still in there house.. next to their freezer... Ugh.. so to recap:
We are an hour and 1/2 late, I don't have my id/debit card, and finally I left the smaller cooler w/ the icepacks at my moms. What a great start! Plus we stopped a McDonalds on our way (actually the one in the town we live in on our way after we dropped Zach off) to get some food, gas and go to the bathroom... The lady helping us did not enjoy her life or job-she was so mean! But I did think it was funny that we stopped to go to the bathroom like 4 blocks from our house..
3 hours later.. we are there! We got there around 2:30... which means we got into the park around 3. We went to the water park first. A little side note about me-I like waterparks ok, but I'd rather be on coasters. So I was in he water park for Tim. We got Tubes ($8 each) b/c I thought Tim wanted them... we went to the wave pool b/c again I thought Tim wanted to.. did a few water slides. At this point, I want to eat again, so we sit down and eat.. and actually talk. Turns out, Tim was doing all the water stuff for me! At this point we decide we would communicate instead of just guessing.. lol So then we did the only thing I actually like in the water park the Lazy River. We really didn't need to buy the tubes after all (Although we didn't have to wait in line for the Lazy River and it made it so I survived the wave pool) But after that we leave the water park area, and start on the coasters!
We rode the Ninja first-it was alot of fun. Then the Batman-this was my favorite ride before.. now not so much. I didn't feel so well after riding it. We rode a few more rides and then we came to the new one. The Sky Screamer
The SkyScreamer at Six Flags St. Louis is the tallest ride in the park at 236 feet and at full swing, riders will soar in a 98-foot (30 m) circle at speeds over 43 miles per hour.  Now when we were in line at one of the water rides there were 2 little girls (about 6-7) talking about how much fun this ride was and how it was scarey at all..  The 6 years olds were scared... I wasn't at first either.. Until we got on it and Tim said how small the chains looked..  Then they started lifting us up and I started getting scared.  I was almost hyperventilating!  I was so scared being that high up in only a swing with seatbelt!  I think I was the only one scared.. lol.  Next Tim wanted to do the Super man Tower of Power.... and since he rode upside down rides, I was obligated to do what ever rides he wanted....First let me tell you Six Flags had 3 parks that had this ride.. but now they only have 2 with them b/c at one of them (KY) a girl got maimed (google it) Anyway..
Doesn't look that scary? . Riders sit in open-air ski lift style seats that face away from the tower, leaving their feet dangling. The cars lift up slowly at first, but quickly accelerate to 12 mph (19 km/h) after leaving the magnetic brakes. Riders are held at the top of the 23-story tower for several seconds at the top. Where the guy on the ground tells you to shake your feet, and lift your arms/hold them out, etc.. Crazy man.. I was NOT letting go of the little plastic part holding me in the seat.  The cars are then individually released from the couplings and free fall some 129 ft, reaching 62 mph before hitting the brakes.  So I screamed when we first started dropping.. but then I couldn't scream.. My mouth was open.. but no sound was leaving it as we fell.. quickly.  After getting off (and I won't lie.. crying alittle) I was still shaking 5 mins later when we got on the Screaming Eagle.  Then I thought it was kinda a fun ride after about 15 mins of me calming down!
Tim and I had a really good time!  It was nice not worring about taking care of Zach well everyone else had fun...  And the car ride was quiet!  lol  But when we left we were very ready to see him again.  We got home and Zach ate and fell right back to sleep and stayed that way until about 8 this morning!  As much fun as those rides were there weren't as exciting as finally getting a good picture of him smiling!

Oh yea, and that is the batman onies we got him...  Super cute!

Ear Protection: Check! :) Ready for the fireworks!!

First 4th of July

I WILL TAKE MORE PICTURES.. I've been so bad about this lately... and yet I still dream of my future camera..  Right now Z is sleeping.. We went camping yesterday, and it was hot.  He stayed pretty cool, hanging out in just his diaper.  I was super worried about him, so didn't sleep.  The heat and being around the smoke made me worried about SIDS (they really beat that fear into you...) Of course he was fine.. But now I'm super tired and exhausted from only sleeping a few hours.
I guess I should update on where we have been the last week before talking more about today... Still at my mom's helping her.  She is doing so good, and able to move around more.  She left her house on Friday and rode in the car to with me.  So that was good and I'm glad she is getting better!  Thursday Zach had his shots.  I hate shots so much!  Z cried more this time.. took him longer to calm down.  But after I started nursing him he calmed right down.  Then after about 25 mins of nursing he looked up at me and gave me a big milky smile.  That made me feel so good.  It made me feel like even tho I have to do things I don't love doing (ie: shots) at least I can give him comfort by nursing him and making him feel better!  He has been more grumpy than normal since then, but should get better soon.

well I'm super tired, so thats all I'm going to write today.. but I will write more this week an post pic!  I promise!!  :)
