Stats tonight!

So my plan of action is to always have my Human Growth homework done by Thursday, so come stats I will be able to focus on that homework.  Stats is going to be harder for me than Human Growth.. But on a more important note this week has been full of cuddles!  Zach has been so cuddly this week.. When I hold him and he is sleepy, he grabs on to my neck and holds on.  It is super sweet and so to enjoy this time w/ Z I've been doing homework and house work at night, while he is sleeping.  Its working out pretty well.  I normally nap when Z naps during his first nap, and caught up on the internet during the others...
I made a new rule.  I no longer get on the internet (thebump, facebook, email, blog, homework, etc) unless Z is sleeping.  I feel like I need to be in the moment more, and not wasting spending time on the internet.  Being the first in our main group to have a baby has made me reach to out to find other people that were in the same boat and understand.  So off to the internet I went!  And sadly its kinda where I spend most my time.  The computer was always on in the living room and people were just a click away.  Which has been a great place for me, now I just need to do it when the time is right :)
Well I'm going to make some lunch

I didn't want to just post pictures today, because I wanted to let everyone know what all Z has eaten so far!  He loves sweet potatoes!  He has also had a few bites of white mashed potatoes.  He has had avocado, squash, and pears.  Brown rice and carrots too!  He is a messy eater!
So after eating its time for bath!!

A piece of my grandma

In case you didn't notice off in the right hand side of my blog there is a donation tab for The walk to end Alzheimer's.  b/c my grandma (and Tim's uncle) have this awful disease.  For the most part since I've had Zach my grandma hasn't been as excited as we all thought she'd be.  Turns out she has also been pretty down.. but today I went over there and it was like she was her old self (or at least pieces of her)  She held Zach right away and played with him and loved on him.. It was so wonderful!!  She even told me I need to give him a little sister.. which is so like her.. and it was refreshing!!  It was the first time she has been like this with him!  And I loved it!!  Before it felt like she was going through the motions she felt like she was suppose to feel/do.  But not today.  Now I'm thinking it had more to do w/ depression then Alz, and I praying it last and isn't just a fluke good day sorta thing.  I'm also going to make more of an effort to go see her.  Once a week is my goal.  I want to try to see the grandparents once a week too.  Tim's dad and my parents (my parents will be easy b/c they are watching Z once a week while I'm at school...)

You can just see how much fun she is having!

After hanging out w/ my grandma, I met up w/ my mom.  We did a little shopping and then went to the Fall Festival in my hometown.  My dad, mom, grandma, and hubby all did the walk thru, seeing people we grew up with.. Showing off my cute kid, sorta thing :)  It was fun.  Got a corndog and lemon shake up.. so it was really good.

Four generations!

One last thing.. Big shout out to my little brother who came thru for me today by letting me use his car!!  Uncle M you rock!!  I had a baby playdate this morning to get too.. which was alot of fun!!  :)
Baby Feet!!
Now to work on some homework after some cute!

Planet of the Apes

Today, my parents came by the house, picked us up and we went to the farmers market!  It was a good time and we got lots of veggies!  Then we hung out at my parents for a while.  After that my parents were going to a movie, and they invited us.  I had never been to a movie w/ Zach yet, other than drive in, so I was kinda worried how he'd do.  Turns out he did great!  He cooed during the previews.  Pretty much after I started feeding him, he feel asleep.. and stayed that way until the end of the movie!  I was so happy!!  It was a pretty good movie, but I was more happy at how well Zach did!  I was worried he was going to cry but he didn't!  So it was nice!  I don't think this will become a habit, bring him to the movies, but it was nice!
So I start school tomorrow...  I'm worried about it.  I'm also worried about not having enough milk for Z.. I looked in my freezer and only have like 13 oz right now.  So today, I'm pumping with every feeding to help have enough stored here and I'm drinking lots more water.  Not that my supply is lacking, but havn't had the time/energy to pump.  Luckily I only have class 2 nights a week, for just a few hours each, but still he'll need some milk, because at night Z eats the most at night.  I am sure with some extra work and time, I'll get enough stored.  I really should have started earlier, but with being in Florida, and dealing w/ a cranky son, I have not made the effort I should have...  On that note, I think T and I need a date night... but that won't happy until I get more milk stored.  But anyway enough about milk!
We are going to have avocado for lunch today!  Z has really started to get on a schedule.  Right now he gets rice cereal in the mornings.  Then baby food in the afternoon, and cereal and baby food at dinner.  Nursing all day about every 3 hours.  He naps anywhere between 10-1 and then again around 2-4 (depending on when he wakes up and naps the first time, etc)  Bedtime is normally about 8:30.  So far he has had sweet potatoes and squash and seemed to like both of those well enough.  Well here are some pictures for you :)  Sorry they are abit dark.. they were taken with my phone.

Also, soon to come our 6 months pictures we got taken on Friday!  From what I saw they look great!  My friend K took them, and she was wonderful!!

Mamma said there would be days like this...

I'm exhausted!  Z is grumpy.  And we have dinner plans and photos tonight!  I hope Z gets happier tonight.  I can't wait for T to get home.. so I can take a nice shower and be alone for a few minutes!  I think the real problem is that I'm tired.  I was up doing stuff around the house last night, so I got to bed later than normal.
Also I have been trying to make rice cereal for Z, but I can't seem to get it smooth enough for him.. so I may just give up for now, and use the box until he can handle a thicker.
This weekend we don't have much planned, which is nice.  Time to relax!!  But I'll leave you all with some cute!

Sharing with Chase

See... grumpy!

Enter the world of making baby food!

I made baby food today.. lots and lots of baby food.. and now I need more veggies!  I made some winter squash, bananas, avocado, sweet potatoes, carrots,  pears, and peaches!  I started making green beans and peas but need to get more of them.  Overall it wasn't that hard.  I used www.wholesomebabyfoods.com as a guide (what a wonderful website)  I also tried making rice cereal, but I need to grain the rice up before  (after trying it without doing that...)  So I'll be making that tomorrow!  Zach enjoyed some sweet potatoes today and really liked it!
So that is how I spend my whole day! That and loving on my little man.. who has been pretty clingy lately due to his next "leap".
Oh yea, I forgot to post!  Z went to his 6 month doctor apt on Monday!  How could I forget to post!!  He is doing great!  He is 18lbs and 27 1/2 in long.  He also got his shots!  Which I wasn't expecting them, but the nurse was great!  She was so quick!  He only got 2 shots this time.  Everything was going great reaction wise until about midnight.  He woke up screaming and as soon as I picked him up.. He got sick all over me, and the bed and himself.  I was changing him and he fell back to sleep.  He felt all better after that.. Of course I needed a sheet change and a midnight shower.  But he is doing well now.
Big boy eating!!

Chase knows whats going on!  He knows where to hang out when its feeding time.

Florida

So we are back folks!  I havn't been updating b/c we have been enjoying our time in the "sunshine" state.  It was alot of fun, but I am very happy to be back home.  We went to my grandma's (Gigi) and she was able to meet Z for the first time!  It was so sweet watching her play with him!  Also, Z started crawling while we were there!  I was pretty happy that everyone was there to see it!  :)  We did a lot of things in Tampa.  One of the most exciting things was we went on a boat ride in the bay and saw dolphins!  It was really exciting!  There were about 6 of them right off an island, and they came up to us.  There was one baby too
We ate alot of really good food!  We really ate all the time!  I kinda feel like I gained 100 lbs just from one week!!  But now that we are back home, its most def time to get for real and diet!  We of course went to beaches!  We went to Siesta beach off the gulf, it was so pretty!  We have a waterproof camera with pictures that need developed (if I can remember how this works.. lol)  I'll post them when I get them done.  Zach loves water, and seemed to have a great time in the water (pool, ocean, gulf of Mexico all of it)  We also went to a nice History Center in Tampa.  It seem to rain almost every day, while we were in Tampa, but luckily we were able to hit the beach when it wasn't pouring!  Then it was time to leave Tampa and Gigi :(
So we head out!  We first stop off at Orlando.  We had planned on meeting up with a few different people, but sadly only had time to meet up with an old friend from highschool that moved down to Orlando.  It was nice visiting with them, and they were able to meet Z for the first time too! :)  Then we drove out to Jacksonville.  For some of the drive we rode on A1A, and saw alot of the coast!  And our AC in our car started acting up again.. by that I mean, stopped working, again!  It happened on our way down first ( I guess it was over pressured from the heat??)  So we had to stop and try to fix that, and got some pictures!

After we fixed that, fed the baby, we were back on the rode!  Z met his great uncle and aunt, and we went out to dinner.  The next day, we went and explored St. Augustine, such a pretty town.  Thanks to our personal tour guide Aunt L!  We saw a few cool places around the town, then headed to a beach with the ocean!  Z enjoyed it!  He really liked the sand and the waves coming and washing the sand around him!  We enjoyed playing out in the waves (taking turns sitting w/ Z and going out).  While out there we saw a dolphin jumping around!!  After the beach, it was time to say goodbye to Uncle C and Aunt L and head out!  Again we were planning on driving thru the night, while Z was sleeping..  We planned on being in Carbondale around 7AM on Friday... Well sadly things don't always go to plan.. Sometimes other things happen...
Well...  This was not what we planned... Yep that is our car, stopped in the middle of nowhere at 1:30 AM...  With all our luggage out of the trunk...  So we could get to the donut.  In case you were wondering.. There is NO tire store in GA open at 1:30 AM that sells car tires.  To top it off, this wasn't even a town.. it was just a gas station, about 200 miles south of Atlanta.  We choice to hobble into Macon GA (about 35 miles from here) and stay in the hotel we stayed in on the way down here and wait for morning to get into a tire place.  We made it.. took over 45 mins, but we got there.  We get into our room, and all crashed, exhausted and defeated...  Woke up and started making calls to try and get our tire... Well, guess who has a rare tire.  Yep, this girl right here!  We call 4 ppl (included Walmart, who checked in all 4 of their stores around the area) .. no one had our tire.. Wal-mart could order it, and could get it in 2 short weeks... Another place I talked to, said they might be able to get it late afternoon.. maybe..  But then we were lucky and found a place that had 4 of our rare tires.. 4  of them!!  Would you believe that it was about 35 miles south of Macon.. right around the area we lost our tire.. So Mom, me and Z stayed in the hotel and T went back down and got our expensive souvenirs.  We just did the 2 front b/c the back one were fine.   They were able to get us right in, and T was back in Macon around 11:30.. we packed up the car, and headed out around noon.
We made it into Carbondale much later than planed, around 8pm, but stayed the night at my Uncle T's house.  Again first time he met Z also.  (see a theme to this trip??)  We played some chess, watch a movie and went to bed!  In the morning, we got breakfast and hung out and had to leave.  We got home pretty quick!  It was so nice to see everyone and to spend so much time w/ my mom and Tim.  Well sorry this is so long, but I just wanted to share it with you!!

First Road Trip

Sleeping in the carseat on his first road trip!
Surprising enough we left around the time we wanted to last night!  Then we drove, and drove and drove!  We left our house around 8:30pm and had to stop 2 to get gas and bathroom breaks, feedings, etc.  Z did great!!  He slept most the night (so most the travel time) woke up around 3, when we were getting gas then fell back asleep pretty quick.  It went so well!  We drove until 9:45 (our local time.. so 10:45 GA time) and stopped about 5 hours from our final destination.  So that was a total of 13 hours in the car!  We got to a town and checked into the hotel, and they let us check in early :)  Z was happy to be outta the car:
Yep that is a disposable diaper... I didn't want to have to carry around 9 days of cloth diapers...

Then we (grandma and I) went swimming while Tim rested (he did most the driving, I did the last hour thru Atlanta.)

After we had fun in the pool, we were pretty tired too, so we all napped:
We were getting ready to go swimming... but all feel asleep.. Grandma was right behind us falling asleep too
Finally here is a pic of our pup!  Who I miss, but my brother is living at our house taking good care of him :)  Also this week has been "World Breastfeeding Week" and I am missing some events for that, so I thought I'd leave with a picture of Z BFing.

Packing...

Well in case you can't tell by all the bags, we are getting ready for vacation!  And packing with a baby takes a whole new set of skills!  about 75% of that stuff  is Zachs.  That small suit case (black) is my mom's and the rest is all ours...  This is why I havn't posted this week..  I've been busy (and stressed!) getting ready for our long road trip to Florida, where Zach will meet his Great Grandma for the first time!  I'm really excited, now that the packing is done, and I can unwind for a second.  My mom took Zach for a little bit today, so we could finish up everything (packing, loading the car, etc) and that really was wonderful!  I was even able to load the dishwasher, so my brother will have dishes to use while he stays here.  So now I'm just waiting for Tim to get home, so we can try to pack all this crap into our car!  Then we'll wait for my mom to get here (and little bro) and off we will go!  I will def be post pics and stories later!  :)
So big!!  Too bad I didn't bring the cart cover.. but he didn't try to eat it :)
